True Wisdom and the Fountain of Wisdom
(참 지혜와 지혜의 샘)
An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends； he defies all sound judgment.
(불친절한 사람은 이기적인 목적을 추구하나니, 그는 모든 건전한 판단에 저항하느니라.)
A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.
(어리석은 자는 깨달음 속에서 즐거움을 찾지않고 그 자신의 의견을 알리는데서 기쁨을 찾느니라.)
When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes disgrace.
(악이 올 때 멸시도 오나니, 부끄러움과 함깨 수치스러움도 오느니라.)
The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.
(사람의 입의 말은 깊은 물이나, 지혜의 샘은 졸졸흐느는 개울이니라.)
It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice.
(악한 자를 편드는 것은 좋지 않으며, 결백한 자에게서 정의를 박탈하는 것도 좋지 않으니라.)
A fool's lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating.
(어리석은 자의 입술은 분쟁을 가져오며, 그의 입술은 매를 자초하느니라.)
A fool's mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
(어리석은 자의 입은 그의 실퍠의 원인이며, 그의 입술은 그의 영혼에 덫이 되느니라.)
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels； they go down to a man's inmost parts.
(남의 이야기하기를 좋아하는 사람의 말은 별미와 같으니, 그 말이 사람의 마음 속 깊은 곳으로 내려가기 때문이니라.)
One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.
(게으르게 일하는 자는 멸망하는 사람의 형제이니라.)
