Avoid Quarrel and Live in Harmony
(다툼을 피하고 화목하라)
A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great.
(선물은 주는 사람에게 길을 열어주며 그를 위인 앞으로 인도하느니라.)
The first to present his case seems right, till another comes forward and questions him.
(다른 사람이 나와서 그에게 이의를 제기할 때까지는 사건을 처음 소송한 자가 옳게 보이느라.)
Casting the lot settles disputes and keeps strong opponents apart.
(제비를 뽑는 것은 다툼을 해결하고 강한 적들을 떼어 놓느니라.)
An offended brother is more unyielding than a fortified city, and disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
(기분 상한 형제가 요새화된 성읍보다 더 완강하고, 다툼은 요새의 빗장가른 성문들과 같으니라.)
From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled； with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.
(그의 입의 열매로부터 사람의 배가 채워지고, 그의 입술로부터 나온 수확으로 그가 만족하게 되느니라.)
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
(혀는 삶과 죽음에 대한 권력을 가지고 있으니, 혀를 놀리기를 좋아하는 자들은 그것의 열매를 먹을 것이니라.)
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
(아내를 찾는 사람은 좋은 것을 찾으며 여호와께로부터 은총을 받느니라.)
A poor man pleads for mercy, but a rich man answers harshly.
(가난한 사람은 자비를 구하나, 부자는 엄하게 대답하느니라.)
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
(친구가 많은 사람이 폐망하게 될 수도 있으나, 형제보다 더 친밀한 친구도 있느니라.)
