The Wise and The Pride
(지혜자와 교만한 자)
In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.
(지혜로운 사람의 집에는 고급 음식과 기름이 쌓여 있으나, 어리석은 자는 그가 가진 모든 것을 삼켜버리느니라.)
He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
(정의와 사랑을 추구하는 사람은 생명과 번영과 영광을 발견하느니라.)
A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust.
(지혜로운 사람은 강력한 자들의 도시를 공격하고 그들이 신뢰하는 요새를 무너뜨리느니라.)
He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.
(그의 입과 혀를 지키는 자는 재앙으로부터 자신을 지키느니라.)
The proud and arrogant man - "Mocker" is his name； he behaves with overweening pride.
(교만하고 오만한 사람 - 즉 "조롱하는 자"가 그의 이름이나니, 그가 우쭐대는 교만으로 행동하기 때문이니라.)
The sluggard's craving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work.
(게으른 자의 욕구는 그의 죽음이 될 것이나니, 그의 손은 일하기를 거절하기 때문이니라.)
All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing.
(하루 종일 그는 더 탐하나, 의로운 사람은 아끼지 않고 나누어 주느니라.)
The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable - how much more so when brought with evil intent!
(악한 자의 제물은 가증스럽나니 - 하물며 그 제물이 악한 목적으로 가져와 질 때는 얼마나 더 그렇겠느냐!)
A false witness will perish, and whoever listens to him will be destroyed forever.
(거짓 증인은 소멸될 것이며, 그의 말을 듣는 누구라도 영원히 파멸될 것이니라.)
A wicked man puts up a bold front, but an upright man gives thought to his ways.
(악한 자는 대담한 태도를 보이나, 정직한 사람은 그의 행동 방식을 깊이 생각하느니라.)
There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.
(여호와를 대항하여 성공할 수 있는 지혜도 없고, 통찰력도 없고 계획도 없느니라.)
The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
(말이 전쟁의 날을 위해 준비 되어지나, 승리는 여호와께 달려있느니라.)
