The Wise and The Foolish
(지혜로운 자와 어리석은 자)
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
(지혜로운 여인은 그녀의 집을 세우나, 자신의 손으로 어리석은 여인은 자기 집을 허무느니라.)
He whose walk is upright fears the LORD, but he whose ways are devious despises him.
(그의 걸음이 정직한 자는 여호와를 두려워하나, 그의 길이 거만한 자는 여호와를 멸시하느니라.)
A fool's talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
(어리석은 자의 말은 그의 등에 매를 가져오나, 지혜로운 자의 입술은 자신을 보호하느니라.)
Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest.
(황소가 없는 곳에는 여물통이 비어 깨끗하나, 황소의 힘으로부터 풍부한 수확이 오느니라.)
A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
(진실한 증인은 속이지 않으나, 거짓된 증인은 거짓말을 쏟아 내느니라.)
The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.
(조롱하는 자들은 지혜를 찾으나 아무 것도 찾지 못하나, 지식은 분별있는 자에게는 쉽게 오느니라.)
Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.
(어리석은 사람을 멀리하라, 왜냐하면 너는 그의 입술에서 지식을 찾지 못할 것이기 때문이니라.)
The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.
(신중한 사람들의 지혜는 그들의 길을 곰곰히 생각하는 것이나, 어리석은 자들의 어리석음은 속이는 것이니라.)
Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.
(어리석은 자들은 죄에 대하여 보상하는 것을 조롱하나, 호의는 정직한 자들 사이에서 발견되느니라.)
Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.
(각각의 마음은 그 자신의 비통함을 알고 있으며, 그리고 다른 아무도 그 마음의 기쁨을 나눌 수도 없느니라.)
