Lives of the Wicked and the Upright
(악한 자와 정직한 자의 삶)
The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
(악한 자의 집은 파괴될 것이나, 정직한 자의 장막은 번성할 것이라.)
There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
(사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있으나, 결국 그 길은 죽음으로 이끄느니라.)
Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in grief.
(심지어 큰 웃음 중에도 마음이 아플 수 있으며, 기쁨도 슬픔으로 끝날 수 있느니라.)
The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good man rewarded for his.
(신의가 없는 자는 그들의 길로 인해서 완전히 보응을 받을 것이며, 선한 사람도 그들의 길로 인해 보상을 받을 것이라.)
A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.
(단순한 사람은 아무 것이나 믿으나, 신중한 사람은 그의 걸음마다 신중히 생각하느니라.)
A wise man fears the LORD and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless.
(지혜로운 사람은 여호와를 두려워하고 악을 피하나, 어리석은 자는 성급하며 무모하느니라.)
A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.
(화를 잘내는 사람은 어리석은 일들을 행하며, 교활한 사람은 미움을 받느니라.)
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
(단순한 사람은 어리석음을 유산으로 받으나, 신중한 사람은 지식으로 왕관이 쓰워지니라.)
Evil men will bow down in the presence of the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
(사악한 사람들은 선한 사람들이 있는 곳에서 엎드려지고, 악한 사람은 의로운 사람의 대문 앞에서 엎드려 지느니라.)
