The Poor and The Rich
(가난한 자와 부유한 자)

The poor are shunned even by their neighbors, but the rich have many friends.
(가난한 자들은 심지어 그들의 이웃들에게 꺼림을 당하나, 부유한 자들은 많은 친구들을 가지느니라.)

He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.
(그의 이웃을 멸시하는 사람은 죄를 지으나, 궁핍한 자들에게 친절한 자는 복을 받을 것이라.)

Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
(악을 도모하는 사람들이 길을 잃게 되지 않느냐? 그러나 선한 것을 계획하는 사람들은 사랑과 진실함을 찾느니라.)

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
(모든 힘든 일은 이윤을 가져오나, 단지 말 뿐인 것은 오직 가난으로 이끄느니라.)

The wealth of the wise is their crown, but the folly of fools yields folly.
(지혜로운 사람들의 부는 그들의 왕관이나, 어리석은 사람들의 어리석음은 어리석음 만을 생산하느니라.)

A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful.
(진실한 증인은 목숨을 구하나, 거짓 증인은 속이느니라.)

He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge.
(여호와를 두려워하는 사람은 안전한 요새를 가지며, 그의 아이들을 위해 그것이 피난처가 되느니라.)

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.
(여호와를 두려워하는 것은 생명의 샘이니, 사람을 죽음의 덫로부터 돌아서게 하느니라.)

A large population is a king's glory, but without subjects a prince is ruined.
(큰 백성은 왕의 영광이나, 국민들이 없으면 군주는 폐망되느니라.)

A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
(인내심있는 사람은 큰 깨달음을 가지나, 성질이 급한 사람은 어리석음을 드러내느니라.)

A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
(평화로운 마음은 몸에 생명을 주어도, 질투는 뼈를 썩게 하느니라.)

He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
(가난한 사람들을 억압하는 자는 그들은 만드신 이에게 경멸을 드러내나, 궁핍한 사람들에게 친절한 누구라도 하나님을 영화롭게 하느니라.)

When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.
(재앙이 올 때에, 악한 자들은 파멸되어지나, 심지어 죽음 가운데에서도 의로운 사람들은 피난처를 가지느니라.)

Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning and even among fools she lets herself be known.
(지혜는 분별력있는 사람들의 마음 속에 거하고 심지어 어리석은 자들 사이에서도 지혜는 스스로 알려지게하느니라.)

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
(의로움은 국가로하여금 환호하게 하나, 죄는 어떤 국민들에게나 수욕이 되느니라.)

A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant incurs his wrath.
(왕은 지혜로운 신하을 기뻐하나, 부끄러운 신하는 그의 분노를 초래하느니라.)
