The humble Receives the Wisedom
(겸손한 자들이 지혜를 얻는다)
Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.
(어리석음은 판단이 부족한 사람을 기뻐하지만, 지혜로운 사람은 길을 똑바로 가느니라.)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
(계획은 조언의 부족으로 실패하나, 조언자들이 많으면 계획이 성공하느니라.)
A man finds joy in giving an apt reply - and how good is a timely word!
(사람은 적절한 답변을 주는 데서 기쁨을 찾으니 때에 맞는 말이 얼마나 좋은가!)
The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave.
(생명의 길은 지혜로운 자가 무덤으로 내려가지 않도록 위를 향해 이끄느니라.)
The LORD tears down the proud man's house but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.
(여호와는 교만한 자의 집을 허무시니, 그는 과부의 땅의 경계를 유지시키시느니라.)
The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him.
(여호와는 악한 자들의 생각을 미워하시나, 순수한 자들의 생각은 그에게 기쁜 것이라.)
A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.
(욕심 많은 사람은 가족에게 해를 끼치나, 뇌물을 미워하는 자는 살게 될 것이라.)
The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.
(의로운 사람의 마음은 마음의 답변들에 대해 신중이 따져보나, 악한 자들의 입은 악을 쏟아내느니라.)
The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
(여호와는 악한 자들을 멀리하시나, 그는 의로운 자들의 기도를 들으시느니라.)
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.
(밝은 표정은 마음에 기쁨을 가져오나니, 좋은 소식은 뼈에 건강을 주느니라.)
He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.
(생명을 주는 꾸지람을 듣는 사람은 지혜로운 사람들 사이에서 편안할 것이라.)
He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
(훈육을 무시하는 사람은 자신을 멸시하고 있는 것이나, 교정을 존경하는 누구라도 지혜를 얻느니라.)
The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
(여호와를 두려워하는 것은 사람에게 지혜를 가르치고, 겸손은 영광에 앞서 오느니라.)
