A wicked man listens to evil lips； a liar pays attention to a malicious tongue.
(사악한 자는 악한 입술의 말을 듣고, 거짓말하는 자는 악의적인 혀에 주의를 귀울이느니라.)
He who mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker； whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.
(가난한 사람들을 조롱하는 자는 그들을 지으신 자에게 경멸을 보이는 것이며, 타인의 재앙에 대해 고소하게 여기는 누구라도 처벌을 면치못할 것이니라.)
Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.
(손자들은 노인의 왕관이며, 부모는 그들 아이들의 자부심이니라.)
Arrogant lips are unsuited to a fool - how much worse lying lips to a ruler!
(오만한 입술이 어리석은 자에게도 적합하지 아니하나니, 하물며 더욱 거짓말하는 입술은 통치자에게 적합하지 아니하느니라!)
A bribe is a charm to the one who gives it； wherever he turns, he succeeds.
(뇌물은 그것을 주는 자에게는 매력적이니, 그가 향하는 어디에서든, 그가 성공하게 되기 때문이라.)
He who covers over an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
(죄를 덮어주는 자는 사랑을 증진시키나, 그 문제를 거듭해서 말하는 누구라도 긴밀한 친구들을 갈라 놓느니라.)
